Review: Then The Doorbell Rang

Then The Doorbell Rang by Capri Jalota
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurb -

One fine morning, Jane wakes up and stands upon the ledge of her 18th floor flat in Dubai Marina. Till a few years back, she was everything that would make anyone jealous – beautiful, rich and successful. But then the wheels of time turned. Today, she is miserable and lonely. Would she get over a deception? Can she forgive herself for deserting a friend? Would she ever find true love? Will karma get the better of her or will life give her another chance to correct the wrongs?

Then the Doorbell Rang is about Jane’s roller-coaster journey as she explores the mystical phenomenon called Life.

My Views -

Then The Doorbell Rang by Capri Jalota is an thriller, my expectations had started from the moment reading title which is similar to Agatha's famous novel. The expectation was thoroughly fullfiled. So intriguing with mysteries and emotions.

Story is all about Jane and her life, starting of the story made me to travel throughout the 395 pages where Jane is not interested to celebrate her birthday nor New year and made handful decision then the doorbell rang. Story takes roller coaster ride with Jane's present and past lives.

I loved the way author narrated it made to imagine the roads and places of Dubai, Delhi and Mumbai realistically. Also author given the beautiful flow by opening one knot after another simultaneously.

I believe author have a great way ahead of his this brilliant debut. The simple & lucid language and mysteries, thrill, love, relationships, friendship, life lessons makes good read also not to forgot the one liners which were soothing.

I recommend to all thril lovers and freshers.
