Review 29: Turning Back Time

Turning Back Time by Shravya Gunipudi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurb -

When people we love pass away, they only take their presence with them. They leave their memories with us.

The story revolves around ‘Alia’, an emotionally distant woman, and how the lives of four elderly strangers impact her own very deeply, bringing about a change in the way she treats herself and those around her.

But as the clock begins to tick and they each start to die, leaving their stories behind for her to learn from, she finds that the depression and trauma caused by their loss have left with her the gift of a lifetime... Realisation.

In the tale of life, death and the ride in between, where there are always mistakes and never second chances, there is only one question.

Can you make it through without regrets?

My view -

" If I Had the chance to turn back time, then I would go tell everyone that I loved them because to me, that is the most wonderful feeling in the world. Alas, it is too late.
Life punished me terribly.
Death, hopefully, would not. "

Turning Back Time by Shravya Gunipudi is a debut novel of the author and she made it an interesting one, also author had written in the way it touches each soul.

About the story, Alia work in the children's care centre and old age home in-between she falls in love with Mayank from their first meeting to their marriage commitments what are all happens in life her life is the story. It had been divided into four all where about her old age home persons story and how it will affects her. All will touches you and makes you to go back seventy years nearly.

All the four persons life story were interlinked with the wrong beliefs of Indians, at that period how they harmed/tortured women's and their wrong thought of new born baby girl.

The plot is extraordinary as the blurb and cover. The cover suits perfectly because all the four story says about Vintage, I Quoted that above lines because it shows the pain of a person in dead which is similar to all four stories in the novel.

With the words author will take you to the pain of how women's suffered earlier and still suffering somewhere, Narration and language both are commendable and simple in its own way.

Overall, Turning back time will be a good read and good investment of Time. It also make you to wonder how our ancestors followed complete contrast path. With love, friendship, pain, sufferings, heart breaking truth it will teach you to live the moment without giving the thought to turn back time.
